Rain rain go away, don't come back another day!

What a strange day weather wise, it started out blue skies and sunshine and then the heavens well and truly opened and apparently we have rain, rain and more rain forecast for next week :o(

Oh well it inspired me to make a card so every cloud has a silver lining :o)

The idea for the card came from some photograph's that I've been playing around with. I got some new software which let's you turn certain bits of a colour photograph black and white. I've framed some very cute photos of the kids as a result.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I printed the image out in the middle of a sheet of white card and then coloured her up with all 5 of the Warm Grey Selection of promarkers and also the new grey squirrel from the limited edition Autumn pack. I used 4 different reds (lipstick red, red, berry red and crimson) for the umbrella. I kept forgetting that I wasn't cutting around her, which I usually do so the blender pen came in very handy when I went over the lines ;o)
I hand stamped the words which were so appropriate for this gorgeous image. I used a white gel pen to highlight the parts I wanted to be bright white. The edges are distressed with a Tim Holtz black soot ink pad. The black flowers are hand made with aurora borealis gems in the centres.
I printed 2 copies of the image this was going to be the one for the card but I coloured outside the lines too much so I cut around her not very neatly and used her for the mask (we waste nothing us crafters).
Then I went all Jackson Pollock, I got an old toothbrush and started flicking ink over the entire card as you can see the mask took quite a hit. Once I removed the mask I flicked over the coloured image with an almost dry brush.
A new challenge and new releases over at Jellypark Friends
Happy Friday peeps, hope the weather is being kind to you.
It's time for a new challenge over at the Jellypark Friends challenge blog and in celebration of the Olympics we are asking for Olympic/sports related entries.
My group had the pleasure of working with the new summery release images, available today from the new look Jellypark Store.
 I saw them and thought how perfectly they worked together so I printed off the tree image with a digitally created background (Jellypark scrapbook pack, clouds and grass element) and coloured it in, I then printed the girl on a swing seperately. After colouring her up I cut around her with my craft knife and made cuts in the tree and threaded the rope from the swing through. She has been attached to the card with a 3D gel.
Beautiful images as usual from the very talented Claire.
Cool or what!!!!
Jellypark Stamp Spotlight Friday
Hello lovely people, I'm doing a happy dance today because my adorable children broke up from school yesterday :o) whether I'll still be calling them adorable in 6 weeks remains to be seen ;o)
It's stamp spotlight Friday over at the Jellypark Friends Challenge Blog and the lovely Kenzie chose one of my favourite stamps.
She is available here from the Jellypark store
Here is the card I've made with her this week.
This card is for my daughters friend who's party it is tomorrow. She is such a little cutey and her parents are French so she's obviously fluent in the language. I adore making cards, how else would I have been able to personalise this so much.
I have paper pieced her dress and hat and coloured the rest with promarkers, I cut around the image and  stuck it to a patterned card stock. The sentiment reads joyeux anniversaire (Happy Birthday) and I made the little flowers using a paper punch.
Voila
It's Christmas over at Jellypark Friends :o)
Ho Ho Ho it's Christmas already over at the Jellypark Friends Challenge blog and with the recent weather I think I may have fallen asleep for a few months and missed the summer lol.
Our new Challenge is Christmas in July.
If you're a really organised crafter (unlike me) then you've probably started making your Christmas Cards already. This is my first one of the year. I have created a digital background and then hand coloured the image. The beauty of this type of card is that it will go though standard post. I really think that Royal Mail should have a seperate pricing system for us card makers so that we can send our embellished cards through the post without it costing a bomb :o) Unfortunately they don't so all of my cards except the hand delivered ones will be made like this.
Isn't this image just adorabubble I bought it a couple of weeks ago from the Jellypark Store it works so beautifully with this style of card.
You have 2 weeks to enter our current challenge so why not get out your tinsel to help you get in the groove and let's see what you make.
Happy Crafting.
Sun, Sea, Surf I wish
Oh my... the kids are breaking up from school in one week and the weather is so rubbish that I am dreading it. It's so difficult to amuse young kids when the great outdoors is so wet and unappealing. I'm going to start doing a sun dance.
Just to cheer myself up I decided to make a very summery card, you never know it might just make summer materialise ;o)
When I saw this image it was just like looking in the mirror, I admit that my hair isn't that long, more shoulder length but the rest is spot on he he ;o).
This gorgeous gal is by Krista Smith over at Saturated Canary. She has been coloured with promarkers, the papers came free in an edition of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine. The die cut waves are from a die I bought over at MMCS and I made the sentiment myself and printed it out on another of the free papers from the mag. I added lots of gems including a sun, thought I'd tell you that the gems top right are supposed to look like the sun just incase it wasn't obvious lol. Did you spot the belly button ring? (gem) I used to have my belly button pierced but I took it out and forgot to put another in straight away, my goodness it healed quickly, literally over night doh.
I've got a bee in my bonnet!
Not really lol I just thought it was a good link to introduce our new feature over at the Jellypark Friends Challenge Blog.
In between our current challenges we're going to do a stamp spotlight. It isn't a challenge post, it's a just for fun. If you've made anything with this little guy we'd love you to put a link in the comments section of the Challenge Blog so that we can have a look.
Each member of the Jellypark DT gets to pick their favourite stamp and then make something with it. It's Suzie's turn this week and she chose this adorable little guy.
Here's what the lovely Lisa made with him.
isn't this just the sweetest card!!
Pop on over to the Challenge Blog for more gorgeous makes from the DT.
All Grown Up
I've been colouring like a demon recently, there are pens strewn all over my craft table to the extent that I am actually working in a space about 10cm sq. I have always been a very messy crafter and I very much doubt that will ever change.
The majority of the images that I have been colouring in are from Jellypark they really are a dream to work with.
This little lady is no exception.
I digitally paper pieced her hat and dress and then coloured the rest in with promarkers. The flower is also coloured to match. I hand stitched the corners, sequins and beads in place. The little round sentiment is also created by me. The decorative floral paper is from a digital paper selection that I bought from Jessica Sprague and I have used it a lot recently it is such a gorgeous girly collection of papers.
I am stalking the postie at the moment for my mmcs order to arrive, I've treated myself to some new dies, I know exactly what I'm making with them when they get here. I hope they come tomorrow.
That's all from me for today.
Happy Crafting.
