Jellypark Friends Friday Challenge Number 2

Hello there and a big Happy Friday to one and all :o) I would like to say how much I loved looking at all of the amazing creations from our last challenge and a big congratulations to the top 3.

Over at jellypark friends we have a brand new challenge for you. I love the inspiration photo for this challenge it's so cheerful and summery,

I really enjoyed making my dt card. I recently bought a couple of  digital scrapbook kits from the jellypark store and I really wanted to use them on my card. I used the digikit for the background of the card and then added butterfly girl, I wanted to use the ribbon as inspiration for my card so I cut little holes in her wings and threaded various ribbons through the holes. A big chunky gingham flower and gem completes the card.
Claire has released 2 brand new images today to the  jellypark  store one of which is a grandad image, when I first saw it I couldn't believe how much he looked like one of my grandads so I made a card that I thought he would have liked :o)

It's still Christmas in July

I love the fact that since I started making Christmas cards the weather has improved ten fold. We all need to Christmas craft in July to ensure plenty of sunshine lol.
There are only a few days left to enter the Jellypark Friends Friday Christmas in July Challenge have you entered yet?
I've been playing around with lots of different christmas images from my new Magical winter cd's. Blog world is full of christmas blog challenge so I thought I'd enter a couple, I knew I had to incorporate the really cute northpole sign as I just love that image. I printed out the black and white stampies and various backing papers from the cd then I coloured in the images with my promarkers, I cut around the little eskimo and added a stick for a fishing rod and attached some thread to the stick and the fish, I coloured in the signpost and added some stickles for snow, I'm really happy with my christmas card and the fact that I have 3 made already :o)

A weekend away and I found a craft shop :o)

We went away for the weekend up to Penrith in Cumbria. Not the best weekend weather wise but a great time was had by all. Whilst driving round Penrith looking for somewhere to park I heard my OH say "Penrith Crafts", my ears pricked up and I said "what did you just say", realising his mistake he said "I didn't say anything" lol he did find the craft shop for me though :o). He even waited outside in the pouring rain while I had a good look around. What a lovely shop full of everything a crafter could want, I could have bought loads but unfortunately finances dictated there could only be a couple of purchases. Thank you to the lovely lady who gave me a demo of the flower dies I bought. If you find yourself in Penrith then make sure you have plenty of pennies and pay a visit. I'll be better prepared next time lol. Go on over to their blog at penrithcrafts.blogspot.com for a blog candy giveaway or click the link on the right hand side =>

Jellypark Friends Friday Challenge Blog

It's here whoopee the first challenge for Jellypark, have you guessed what the theme is yet? it's Christmas in July of course. I love Christmas crafting it's my favourite time of year I could craft day and night. When I saw this snowman I thought I would take full advantage of the digital aspect of the image and print it off in as many sizes as possible.  Then I thought about staggering the images on various hillsides.I chose ice white and aqua as a colour scheme with a hint of red. I decoupaged the scarves and hats, I also embossed the hats to make them extra shiny, I ran some white core card through a cuttlebug folder and then sanded it back, I also ran some white glitter paper through the same folder, I tore the papers as I didn't want clean cuts and this is what I came up with :o)
The very generous Claire is giving away this cute snowman over on our  jellypark friends friday challenge blog, how cool is that!!!
Pop on over to our challenge blog using the link above and have fun creating.

I'm entering this card into the

New on the scene

Look what I can show now, 2 brand spanking new releases from the Jellypark Store and I've had them for  a couple of weeks, the joy of being in the Jellypark DT mucho excitement lol.
With the "Princess for a day" I wanted to make quite a traditional pink, girly card,  if my little girl liked it then, as she's my biggest critic, I would be one happy crafter.

I looked at this image and thought how cool would it be if the bunny was being lifted off the ground like in the cartoons, so I decided to have her floating through the trees, not too high you can only float so high with 3 balloons :o)
All images are available in Claires store  Jellypark

Craft Pimp Star Challenge

About a month ago over on Craft Pimp forum a couple of our members decided to run a challenge swap, I immediately put my name down, it's the first one I've ever done. The challenge this month was "STARS" everyone involved went away and came back at the end of the month with the most delicatable array of star inspired creations. Our names were then put in a hat to find out who was going to get who's creation. I have to say there wasn't one thing there that I wouldn't have been very proud to receive.
Yesterday my gorgeous necklace from my craft pimp pal Sue came through the letterbox, it matched perfectly with what I was wearing that day so it went straight on, it was with much regret that I had to take it off at bed time last night lol.
Here it is :o)

I made a star card for the challenge:

I really love being a part of craftpimp. The forum isn't just for papercrafters every craft is welcome, you have so many opportunities to learn new techniques, understand how other crafts are made and have a wide and varied support network and of course the opportunity to take part in swaps and give aways within a wider sprectrum of the crafts.
I'm going to wear my necklace again today and tomorrow and the next day, well you get the picture :o)

Jellypark Friends Friday Challenge Blog Mini Competition

Over at the Jellypark Friends Friday HQ there is an opportunity to win some new release digi stamps, with a cool mini competition. There are also some DT cards on show, my little Dino Boy included. Don't forget that the first challenge starts on Friday 15th July, we are all getting very excited now :o)

A new creation and as usual a needle and cotton were involved

I've been working on this one for over a week as there is a fair bit of hand stitching involved. The background papers are from My Minds Eye, I adore MME they are my favourite paper producers. When I was in America last year I found a Michaels Craft store I thought I'd died and gone to heaven, not sure the OH and kids were so thrilled. I could have spent the entire holiday budget in there but common sense provailed as I also had to consider baggage allowance :o(. I left with some lovely ribbons, flowers and 1 paperstack. :o)
This card has another lovely Jellypark image on it and when I'd finished colouring her in I felt I needed to add the stitching to her dress, I think it completed her perfectly. I love my little pearls at the moment and I always try to use them in my bright, contemporary style cards, more so ironically than any vintage ones I may make.

She is available to purchase from my Etsy store

I've had a roaringly good time in my craft room lately

When I got this gorgeous little image from Claire at Jellypark I knew exactly what I wanted to do with him. I imagined him stomping his way through a city scene, nosing through windows as he passed. I have decoupaged the city scene around and in front of him. I added a sentiment to the cloud as I didn't want to disrupt the design of it by adding a normal sentiment. I love how he's turned out, it's exactly what I had in mind. In other words I love it when  plan comes together lol.

I have also been making another yo ho pirate card as I sold the other one, I am delighted to say he has set sail for a swashbuckling adventure across the ocean to his new home in New Jersey, how exciting :o)

I would now like to introduce you to Dino Boy, he could be stomping through a city near you as he is now available in my Etsy store.

TGIF but only because I can announce my exciting news!!!!

I plucked up the courage a few weeks ago to apply for my first Design Team role. The role is for the new Jellypark Challenge Blog. I figured as every card I seem to make at the moment has one of Claire's gorgeous images on it that it would be the perfect opportunity for me. I found out on Monday that I had been accepted, I was soooo excited when I got the email but haven't been able to announce anything until now. I've spent the week messaging with all my Design Team colleagues and familiarising myself with my responsibilities etc.
Today is a very special day for Jellypark with the opening of the new online Jellypark Store The beginning of the Jellypark Challenge Blog and the introduction over there of all the Design Team Members. The very first blog challenge will start on the 15th July so pop over and follow us now so you don't miss out. If you pay a visit over to the Jellypark Blog now there are some freebie images up for grabs, I've got mine already :o).
I feel it necessary to warn you that I have submitted a photo of myself for the DT announcement rofl.
Really exciting times ahead guys and I for one cannot wait. You've seen these cards before as they are all I've blogged about lately and a few people have been asking me where I got the images from so now you know.
I'm off to stock up on all of the new scrummy items on offer, race you!!!!
