Rain rain go away, don't come back another day!

What a strange day weather wise, it started out blue skies and sunshine and then the heavens well and truly opened and apparently we have rain, rain and more rain forecast for next week :o(

Oh well it inspired me to make a card so every cloud has a silver lining :o)

The idea for the card came from some photograph's that I've been playing around with. I got some new software which let's you turn certain bits of a colour photograph black and white. I've framed some very cute photos of the kids as a result.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I printed the image out in the middle of a sheet of white card and then coloured her up with all 5 of the Warm Grey Selection of promarkers and also the new grey squirrel from the limited edition Autumn pack. I used 4 different reds (lipstick red, red, berry red and crimson) for the umbrella. I kept forgetting that I wasn't cutting around her, which I usually do so the blender pen came in very handy when I went over the lines ;o)
I hand stamped the words which were so appropriate for this gorgeous image. I used a white gel pen to highlight the parts I wanted to be bright white. The edges are distressed with a Tim Holtz black soot ink pad. The black flowers are hand made with aurora borealis gems in the centres.
I printed 2 copies of the image this was going to be the one for the card but I coloured outside the lines too much so I cut around her not very neatly and used her for the mask (we waste nothing us crafters).
Then I went all Jackson Pollock, I got an old toothbrush and started flicking ink over the entire card as you can see the mask took quite a hit. Once I removed the mask I flicked over the coloured image with an almost dry brush.
