Jellypark Challenge Old and New

Wow it's the last Jellypark Friends Challenge of 2012. Where on earth has this year gone, it seems to me that I blinked and missed it :o)

I hope 2013 is a much drier year, there has been far too much rain of late for my liking.

Anyway enough grumbling about the weather, the latest theme over at the challenge blog is old and new.

We would like to see how you've used old stash alongside new stash (I hope you all got lovely Christmas crafty treats).

My card contains some old buttons and ribbons and I made the flower with a new die and I also got lots of new eyelets for Christmas.
The image I used is available here from the Jellypark Store.

Claire has also released two fab teenager images

I hope you all have a wonderful New Year and all the very best for 2013.
Happy Crafting.

Jellypark New release images

Yeah thank crunchy it's Friday
My kids are most upset they thought they were breaking up this week but it isn't until next Thursday, don't you just hate it when that happens. It's like waking up thinking it's Saturday, rolling over to go back to sleep only for the alarm to go off and remind you it's only Friday.

I haven't been able to spend much time in the craft room lately for one reason and another so it was a real treat to go in and create this card to showcase one of the new Jellypark release images.

I created a digital background and then imported one of the October release stamps of a Polar bear available here and then added today's new release which is a very pretty tag image.

As it's Christmas I also added coloured glitters to the the tag and the lights on the tree.  The polar bears were shaded with promarkers.
This is only one of the new release images available today so pop on over to store or the Challenge blog to see the other one.

The latest Jellypark Friends challenge is to use a tag on your project so this new release would be just perfect for that.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

It's challenge time over at Jellypark Friends Challenge Blog

Time flies when you're having fun and oh my the weeks are flying in, so I must be having lots of fun :o).
 We have a new challenge over at the jellypark friends challenge blog.
The theme is stars. I was spoilt for choice over in the jellypark store for images to use for this theme. I chose a recent new release image for a new baby.

The backing paper is a digital download from Jessica Sprague and I printed co-ordinated papers and cut star shapes for the background. I coloured the image with promarkers.
Claire is also releasing two new images today, so pop on over to the challenge blog for a look at what the DT have come up with using them.

Jellypark Friends new releases and latest challenge

"I'm hungry", not really, I've just had my breakfast ;o), but that's the theme of the latest challenge over at the Jellypark Friends Challenge Blog.

We would like to see all of your foody related makes and linking them up to the challenge blog will give you the chance of winning a jellypark digi stamp from the jellypark store.

My group got to work with the latest new release images. I love this one it is so flexible. It comes with the words Anniversary or Birthday. Alas I am now one year on from receiving a card with that number on but they do say life begins at 40 and I can't grumble so far :o).

I chose to couple it with the words Today. I coloured it with promarkers and then dotted it with a white gel pen, it doesn't show up very well in the photo. I printed out the little flower embellishments then cut them out and glittered them up, I do love a bit of glitter, especially at his time of year. The digi image is available from today, here. There is also a very cute little rabbit image, I do love Claire's rabbit images.

I'm off to make some paper flowers for another project which I will share soon.

My latest makes and not a piece of card in sight :o)

I've been busy making my Decorations for Generations over the last week. I love this time of year with the lead up to Christmas. The kids are already starting to get excited :o).

One day I would love to go to a winter market in Germany. I spent the first 4 years of my life living in Germany so a lot of my inherited Christmas decorations are from there. I guess that's where my love of decorations stems from. I really want to visit and add to my collection.

Here are a few of my latest makes.

I've just finished a cute little Christmas pudding which I will be photographing tomorrow. All of the above are available from my Etsy Store.

New release Charity Image from Jellypark

Hello peeps :o)
I'm here to tell you about a wonderful new image available from the Jellypark Store here all the money from the sales of the image will go to Breakthrough breast cancer.
The design team all got busy with the image and we sent our fabulous DT co-ordinator Jennifer some cards in the hope they would cheer her up through her horrible radiation treatment. They have been arriving each day and every one had some crafty stash inside.
This is the card I made for Jennifer.

and this is the card I made including the jellypark ribbon charity image which Claire released a couple of weeks ago.

Jellypark Challenge Time - Back to nature

Hello peeps :o).
Oh my the weeks are flying in, it'll soon be Christmas :oO.
I have both my kids and numerous friends and families birthdays to deal with first though, it's an expensive time!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There's a new challenge over at Jellypark Friends Challenge Blog and this time round we're going back to nature. We'd love to see projects featuring animals, leaves, trees etc.
I made an animal tag with this brand new release available from today in the Jellypark Store isn't it just adorabubble. I've been using brown paper to wrap up presents lately and then jazzing it up with nice ribbons and handmade tags. This one is going on a birthday gift.
I cut out a tag shape from some kraft card and then cut some decorative paper and layered it up I had a roll of self adhesive lace which co-ordinated really well so I put a strip along the bottom. I attached an eyelet and ribbon then coloured up the giraffe with my promarkers and added some pretty leaves and paper rose heads.
I stamped a To: and From: on the back.
I'll be back with more cards soon as I've been a busy bee lately :o)
ABC with pink over at Jellypark Friends
It's challenge time over at Jellypark Friends Challenge Blog and the theme is ABC with pink in recognition of breast cancer awareness month.
As I am in group 2 we got to work with the new releases and oh boy there's a bumper batch of them today.
Claire was approached by a magazine recently and asked to create some Christmas images for an article about Jellypark :o). The design team got busy creating beautiful samples (I couldn't get involved this time so the lovely Lisa stepped in for me and made 2) and they will be included in next week's edition of Papercraft Essentials magazine.
I chose this little fellow to work with and I think he will be making an appearance on all of my Christmas Cards this year he is so cute.
With an image as gorgeous as this you don't need much to go with it, I coloured it and raised it up with sticky pads. For the background I ripped some black card, stamped a sentiment on it and dotted it with a white gel pen. I used some white glitter card at the bottom, quick, simple, but effective.
Happy Crafting.
She packed light!
Hey peeps, Happy Tuesday :o)
I noticed over at the Saturated Canary Challenge Blog that the latest challenge is a colour inspiration one and they are using my most favourite thing ever, a colour seeds chart :o)
If I see a challenge with a colour seed chart on it I have to take part.
I started by saving the pic to my compy and then I colour dropped the colours into my graphics package so that I could be sure that I was matching perfectly. I then tried to find appropriate pro markers.
I chose the "pack light" image to work with, don't you just love her she is Gorgeous with a capital "G."
All of the embellishments are digitally drawn by me to match the theme and the palette, I love creating things digitally, makes them unique which I love :o)
I adore how she turned out and she's definitely a girl after my own heart, just ask my OH :o)
I used the two grey shades for one of the suitcases and the deep red/brown for the other case. I love spicy shades so I had a great time with the oranges. I decoupaged some of the clothes and the handbag, I also used some glazes on the luggage label and bag. I struggled a bit to match my pens perfectly to the green/blue colour but I managed to incorporate it in the flourish down the left side.
Roll on the next design seed challenge.
I've got to get back to my decorating now booo, it's almost as evil as housework really, but I've given myself a deadline for finishing it, so it's my own fault lol.
Oh and by the way over at =>this blog=< the amazingly generous Donna has a mega blog candy offer going on until 30th November.
Check it out!!!!!
Midway reminder "In the Pink" over at Jellypark Friends
I've got that Friday feeling, whoop love Fridays 2 whole days at home with the kids and hubby.
I posted last week about the latest challenge over at Jellypark Friends Challenge Blog it's called  "In the Pink" we already have lots of entries for the challenge which is fabulous, there's always room for a few more though.
I got crafting this week as I have lots of Birthday Cards to make for my daughters friends. As you can imagine pink is featuring a lot in these creations. I keep hoping at least one of the girls has a favourite colour other than pink, though apparently not lol.
I made this one for her friend Nat, I hope she liked it, I know my little one thoroughly enjoyed Nat's party on Tuesday :o)
I adore this image, she is available =>here<= from the wondeful Jellypark Store.
There's also a super freebie digi image available over on the Challenge Blog right now from the wonderfully generous Claire.
"Pink it up" over at Jellypark Friends Friday challenge
Hello peeps and a very happy Friday one and all.
It's challenge time over at Jellypark Friends Friday Challenge blog and in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month we want you to "Pink it up".
We can't wait to have the blog covered wall to wall in your beautiful pink creations.
My DT card is using a lovely quite recently released image which is available here
I used some pretty pink satin ribbon and wooden flowers to decorate. She's coloured in with promarkers (I made a new home for my promarker collection this week, they are all beautifully organised now :o) ) and I used some glossy accents on the balloon.
The papers are a download that I purchased from Jessica Sprague.
There are 2 fabulous new releases available from today including a ribbon image which Claire created especially for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all the proceeds from sales of the 2 images will got to charity.
Happy Crafting.
He's a cutie pie
I've been very quiet in blog land due to one thing and another, hopefully though I'm back on track and I'm definately raring to go. I should have new cards to show over the next few days but definately next week when life will be back to some semblance of normality :o)
My blog looks terrible the template I had on here stopped working while I was away and I can't seem to get it back on track so bear with me.
In the mean time I have this card to show you. I so enjoyed making it but then I particularly love making cards for kids.
I coloured him with my trusty promarkers and then cut him out and decoupaged his little vest and shoe. I created a patchwork effect for the background and die cut some cute co-ordinating buttons.
Enjoy your day wherever you are.
Jellypark says thank you
It's been a while since I posted, I've had a terrible technology fail to deal with amongst other things and it has meant that not only could I not craft but I couldn't update my blog either. I'm back now and raring to go :o).
I'm delighted to announce that the latest challenge over at Jellypark Friends Challenge Blog is all about saying thank you. We would love to see any projects where you are giving thanks to someone.
My team got to work with the new release images of which there are 2. I chose this super cute little squirrel or squibbel as my little girl used to call them (I like that better to be honest.) I didn't make a card, shock horror but a cute tag.
I started colouring him up and noticed a cloth on my table from when I had been cleaning so I wondered what would happen if I loaded the cloth with my blender pen, well it gave a great texture for his fur, success :o)
My mum brought me the little wooden acorn and foam leaf from Poland and they work perfectly with the image which is available from the jellypark store. There's also a super cute little bird image available to.
Have a great weekend and happy crafting.
Mel :o)
p.s my blog looks a mess, while I was away something happened to it and the template stopped working, it messed everything up and I'm really struggling to get it looking nice again so please bear with me.
Jellypark Friends Bug Challenge
Hello crafty peeps and a happy Friday to you all.
The weather has taken a turn for the better which I'm so pleased about, I'm particularly happy that the sun has come out for the Olympics. It's been wonderful and I have enjoyed it so much more than I thought I would :o)
Well done to the Top 3 from the Jellypark Friends last challenge which was all about the Olympics.
Our new challenge over at Jellypark Friends is all about bugs. We would love to see your projects with bugs included somewhere. The warmer weather has certainly brought more of them out to play. I noticed today that we had lots of flying ants around.
My card is using Butterfly Girl she is one of my favourite images and I thought it would be cool to colour her in ladybird colours.
I used a plain red background paper and die cut some spots, I created the ticket myself and coloured the image up with promarkers. I've had the black ribbon for ages, I was so pleased to be able to finally use some of it on my card :o)
There are also 2 gorgeous new release images over in the Jellypark Store and the DT have made some amazing cards to showcase them over on the Challenge Blog.
Rain rain go away, don't come back another day!
What a strange day weather wise, it started out blue skies and sunshine and then the heavens well and truly opened and apparently we have rain, rain and more rain forecast for next week :o(
Oh well it inspired me to make a card so every cloud has a silver lining :o)
The idea for the card came from some photograph's that I've been playing around with. I got some new software which let's you turn certain bits of a colour photograph black and white. I've framed some very cute photos of the kids as a result.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I printed the image out in the middle of a sheet of white card and then coloured her up with all 5 of the Warm Grey Selection of promarkers and also the new grey squirrel from the limited edition Autumn pack. I used 4 different reds (lipstick red, red, berry red and crimson) for the umbrella. I kept forgetting that I wasn't cutting around her, which I usually do so the blender pen came in very handy when I went over the lines ;o)
I hand stamped the words which were so appropriate for this gorgeous image. I used a white gel pen to highlight the parts I wanted to be bright white. The edges are distressed with a Tim Holtz black soot ink pad. The black flowers are hand made with aurora borealis gems in the centres.

I printed 2 copies of the image this was going to be the one for the card but I coloured outside the lines too much so I cut around her not very neatly and used her for the mask (we waste nothing us crafters).
Then I went all Jackson Pollock, I got an old toothbrush and started flicking ink over the entire card as you can see the mask took quite a hit. Once I removed the mask I flicked over the coloured image with an almost dry brush.

A new challenge and new releases over at Jellypark Friends

Happy Friday peeps, hope the weather is being kind to you.

It's time for a new challenge over at the Jellypark Friends challenge blog and in celebration of the Olympics we are asking for Olympic/sports related entries.

My group had the pleasure of working with the new summery release images, available today from the new look Jellypark Store.
 I saw them and thought how perfectly they worked together so I printed off the tree image with a digitally created background (Jellypark scrapbook pack, clouds and grass element) and coloured it in, I then printed the girl on a swing seperately. After colouring her up I cut around her with my craft knife and made cuts in the tree and threaded the rope from the swing through. She has been attached to the card with a 3D gel.
Beautiful images as usual from the very talented Claire.

Cool or what!!!!

Jellypark Stamp Spotlight Friday

Hello lovely people, I'm doing a happy dance today because my adorable children broke up from school yesterday :o) whether I'll still be calling them adorable in 6 weeks remains to be seen ;o)

It's stamp spotlight Friday over at the Jellypark Friends Challenge Blog and the lovely Kenzie chose one of my favourite stamps.

She is available here from the Jellypark store

Here is the card I've made with her this week.

This card is for my daughters friend who's party it is tomorrow. She is such a little cutey and her parents are French so she's obviously fluent in the language. I adore making cards, how else would I have been able to personalise this so much.
I have paper pieced her dress and hat and coloured the rest with promarkers, I cut around the image and  stuck it to a patterned card stock. The sentiment reads joyeux anniversaire (Happy Birthday) and I made the little flowers using a paper punch.

It's Christmas over at Jellypark Friends :o)

Ho Ho Ho it's Christmas already over at the Jellypark Friends Challenge blog and with the recent weather I think I may have fallen asleep for a few months and missed the summer lol.

Our new Challenge is Christmas in July.

If you're a really organised crafter (unlike me) then you've probably started making your Christmas Cards already. This is my first one of the year. I have created a digital background and then hand coloured the image. The beauty of this type of card is that it will go though standard post. I really think that Royal Mail should have a seperate pricing system for us card makers so that we can send our embellished cards through the post without it costing a bomb :o) Unfortunately they don't so all of my cards except the hand delivered ones will be made like this.
Isn't this image just adorabubble I bought it a couple of weeks ago from the Jellypark Store it works so beautifully with this style of card.

You have 2 weeks to enter our current challenge so why not get out your tinsel to help you get in the groove and let's see what you make.

Sun, Sea, Surf I wish

Oh my... the kids are breaking up from school in one week and the weather is so rubbish that I am dreading it. It's so difficult to amuse young kids when the great outdoors is so wet and unappealing. I'm going to start doing a sun dance.

Just to cheer myself up I decided to make a very summery card, you never know it might just make summer materialise ;o)
When I saw this image it was just like looking in the mirror, I admit that my hair isn't that long, more shoulder length but the rest is spot on he he ;o).
This gorgeous gal is by Krista Smith over at Saturated Canary. She has been coloured with promarkers, the papers came free in an edition of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine. The die cut waves are from a die I bought over at MMCS and I made the sentiment myself and printed it out on another of the free papers from the mag. I added lots of gems including a sun, thought I'd tell you that the gems top right are supposed to look like the sun just incase it wasn't obvious lol. Did you spot the belly button ring? (gem) I used to have my belly button pierced but I took it out and forgot to put another in straight away, my goodness it healed quickly, literally over night doh.

I've got a bee in my bonnet!

Not really lol I just thought it was a good link to introduce our new feature over at the Jellypark Friends Challenge Blog.
In between our current challenges we're going to do a stamp spotlight. It isn't a challenge post, it's a just for fun. If you've made anything with this little guy we'd love you to put a link in the comments section of the Challenge Blog so that we can have a look.
Each member of the Jellypark DT gets to pick their favourite stamp and then make something with it. It's Suzie's turn this week and she chose this adorable little guy.
Here's what the lovely Lisa made with him.

isn't this just the sweetest card!!

All Grown Up

I've been colouring like a demon recently, there are pens strewn all over my craft table to the extent that I am actually working in a space about 10cm sq. I have always been a very messy crafter and I very much doubt that will ever change.

The majority of the images that I have been colouring in are from Jellypark they really are a dream to work with.
This little lady is no exception.
I digitally paper pieced her hat and dress and then coloured the rest in with promarkers. The flower is also coloured to match. I hand stitched the corners, sequins and beads in place. The little round sentiment is also created by me. The decorative floral paper is from a digital paper selection that I bought from Jessica Sprague and I have used it a lot recently it is such a gorgeous girly collection of papers.

I am stalking the postie at the moment for my mmcs order to arrive, I've treated myself to some new dies, I know exactly what I'm making with them when they get here. I hope they come tomorrow.

That's all from me for today.
Happy Crafting.

New release time over at the Jellypark Store

OOOH we have 2 new releases over at the Jellypark Store and they are both cute as can be.
This one is going to my son's teacher in a couple of weeks time. I can't believe he is going into year 6 in September, where does the time go?

The new challenge over at the Jellypark Challenge Blog is "waving" with July 4th right around the corner in the USA, let's create projects that show anything that waves - flags, banners, hands, oceans or anything else you can think of.

The other new release is a very cute beach house which would work perfectly for this challenge :o)

A Retirement Card

I was recently asked to make a retirement card for someone who is leaving after 34 years. Wow she's worked for almost as long as I've been on this planet.
Now that deserves a medal, which kind of helped me when I designed the card, so here it is.

I printed out a wonderful grid backing paper I love papers with lines on them it makes placing everything else so much easier ;o) I coloured up a Saturated Canary image, added some lovely scrolls, pearls and gems. I used a co-ordinating paper to create a band along the bottom of the card and placed some ribbon along it. A little hand made flower compliments one end and I made the sentiment which reads "You deserve a medal" "Enjoy your retirement".

A Graduation Card

It's the first phase of Graduations here in the UK with more happening in July so I thought I'd have a go at making a Graduation Card.

Sometimes when I see an image I want to tell a story with it, well in card form at least. Other times I just want to create something pretty around it. This card is a story card it's all about a fabulously clever, girl who has achieved so very much and is now graduating as a result of all her hard work.
This beautiful girl is from Saturated Canary. I coloured her up with promarkers then cut around her, I like to have moving elements where possible within my cards so I created a tassle from embroidery thread for her hat. I then thought it might be nice to make a 3D diploma/degree certificate. I designed a chalkboard background paper and then another paper with some key words for the occasion. I wanted the sentiment to depict a special moment in the ceremony so I had a play around and made a round sentiment with the words "Hats off to you on your Graduation Day". Finally I drew a podium digitally and added some more of the 3D certificates to top it off.

This time next year I'll be making a similar version of this card for my big sister when she finishes her English Degree, that will be a very proud and happy moment :o).

Happy Saturday and a Wedding Card

I love this time of year, it's wedding season and although I haven't been invited to any this year, I live in hope that a few of our friends might take the plunge lol.

I've been designing a new Wedding Card for my Etsy Store and I used this gorgeous image called "double take" she was drawn by Krista Smith over at Saturated Canary.

A wedding day is such an important day especially for the bride so I wanted to make her more prominent on the card, hence the bridegroom is in silhouette form. I coloured her up with my promarkers and then hand stitched some silver seed beads to the dress. I made the sentiment and added some ribbon and black embellishments to finish it off.

Doesn't she look like the perfect blushing bride.

Challenge 24 - Jellypark Friends

Good morning and thank goodness it's Friday! I'm really looking forward to this weekend, especially Sunday, the kids have made their dad a card each, I've bought his present from them, so all that's left to do is make sure I have nice breakfast things in, I always get breakfast in bed on Mother's Day, seems only fair I should return the favour :o)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can't believe we are at challenge 24 already over at the Jellypark Friends Challenge Blog. Time flies when you're having fun! which links me nicely in to the theme, it's all about flying kites, it could be part of an image or the backing paper or maybe even make your own embellishments. There are a number of digi images which are perfect for this challenge over in the Jellypark Store.
I used a pre-coloured boy flying a kite image which is available as clipart fom the store, click here to take you straight there. I used elements from another jellypark clipart set click here to create the trees, grass and clouds. I wanted it to look like a photograph so I mounted it up with 4 different backing papers and added some text. I made some coordinating tags with some inspirational words on them and then because I seem to be using my stapler all the time I  stapled them to my card.
As well as the challenge over on the blog there are also 2 new images available from the store today. The Design Team have had a great time creating the most beautiful projects to showcase them so I hope you'll pop on over to the Challenge Blog for a look.
Say hello to Winnie
This is a very special card as it was made for my best friends birthday. Her and her hubby have just bought a funky caravan so as soon as I saw this image from Saturated Canary I had to have it. I bought it ages ago but didn't want to use it until I had created and given her the card, soppy I know but hey if you have a best friend then you treasure that friendship don't you!!
She loved it which was a relief and here it is.
I coloured her skin, hair and boots but decided that as I've been colouring in soooo much lately that I would do a bit of paper piecing instead so the caravan, curtains, bunting and her clothes are all put together like a jigsaw :o)
I made the friend ticket and flower, decorated a plain background paper with sponged on clouds and stamped images and I stitched a decorative corner in place with some fab lace which my mum brought me from a recent visit to Poland. I wanted to add a bit more bunting because, well I adore bunting.
Wedding Card
Yeah Day 4 I'm doing really well blogging and on Day 4 I have a wedding card.
This card was made for a friend to give to her Aunt who got married last week, it's quite different from my usual style in that there isn't a digi image in sight lol.
I used my cricut to cut out the doves and then I stitched some seed beads and a red heart bead to hang between their beaks, I also wanted a moving element on the card.
I love wedding season.
Challenge 23 Jellypark Friends and a New release
It's a hat trick, I've blogged 3 days in a row lol might try for 4 days... well we'll see ;o)
It's challenge time again over at Jellypark Friends Challenge Blog and the theme this time round is "Boy Crazy".
It's my turn to work with the new release image which will be available from the Jellypark Store today. It works really well with the theme (it would be a bit wrong for me to enter though as I'm on the DT lol :oP  ) but here it is.
 As soon as I saw this gorgeous robot image I knew exactly what I wanted to make. I really struggled to find a backing paper that I liked, so I hopped on the pc and digitally drew some bolts and then turned them into a backing paper and accent pieces. The last challenge was all about office supplies and I used my stapler on that card which inspired me to use it again this time to create a border around the edge. I used some eyelets in the corners and coiled some wire to make springs. The image is coloured with my trusty promarkers.
Lots of inspiration can be found from the DT so pop on over for a look.
That's all from me until tomorrow when I will try my best to blog again... 4 days in a row just might be a record for me, I feel a challenge coming on.
I've been very busy in my craftroom this week and I have quite a few cards almost finished for my Etsy Shop. They take me quite a while due to the amount of hand stitching that takes place, oh I do love to stitch on my cards :o).
I used one of my favourite Jellypark images. Butterfly Girl is the name of the image but I am calling her a fairy for this card.
I have used some glorious My Minds Eye papers as the focal points on the card and a rather plain background card. The Jellypark image has been coloured with alcohol markers. I have added some wire antennae with little beads on the end. The frames have been stitched in place with sequins and beads and the buttons have also been stitched. I used 2 different silk threads to hand stitch the zig zag on the decorative corners. Co-ordinating pearls were added to each corner.
Jellypark Magazine Feature
The wonderful world of Jellypark is coming to the next edition of Complete Cardmaking Magazine. Claire the genius behind Jellypark and the Design Team are very excited at the prospect. We have all made cards which have been sent to the magazine to be photographed, how cool is that?
This magazine has a free cd with every issue and Claire has been very generous with all of the images she has given.
This is the latest copy of the magazine
 and here is what will be on offer at the end of July.
Can't wait to share the cards with you :o)
